Transparency Statement

In accordance with §§ 107, para. 1, 108 no. 2 of the SGB V, Park-Klinik Manhagen GmbH & Co. KG is officially authorised to provide inpatient care for patients with state health insurance in the field of orthopaedics/trauma surgery and ophthalmology. Here, in order to fulfil its care mandate, the clinic also works - alongside fixed employed doctors - with specialist operating surgeons and anaesthetists who work part-time, as well as fee-based physicians, who as well as working for the clinic also move between different ‘MVZ’ (medical care centres) and medical practices, or work as stationary members of staff in university clinics. Provisions for hospital treatment are made for such activities by the legislature and the relevant statutory regulations are stipulated in § 2 of the Hospital Remuneration Act (‘KHEntgG’). This notwithstanding, the right of patients to the free selection of doctors and hospitals remains unrestricted. If they wish to do so, in particular in cases of a particular area of specialism of the doctor, patients may freely select their operating surgeon.
