Frequently asked questions

I was injured at work or school. Can I come to you?

We provide initial care for accidents at work and school in our Trauma Clinic. Further treatment is then provided by an accredited statutory accident insurance doctor.

Is transport available to take me to the clinic for surgery and home afterwards?

Please check with your health insurer in advance whether it will cover your transport costs.
For your journey to the hospital for surgery, your treating physician will usually issue a transport authorisation.
After your inpatient stay, we will also be happy to issue a transport authorisation for your return journey.

The hospital bag checklist says I should bring a hospital referral. Do I need to obtain it myself?

Yes. Every patient must bring their own hospital referral on the day of admission for surgery. Please arrange this with your referring doctor.

Do I need to bring towels and a bathrobe?

Yes, you are welcome to bring your own towels. The hospital can provide towels if needed. If you select our optional room service, we will also provide you with a bathrobe.

How do I make an appointment with an anaesthetist?

Please call 04107 3399860 to arrange an appointment with the anaesthesia team, or use E-Mail anzeigen. The consultation with the anaesthetist takes place at Klinik Manhagen in Großhansdorf. Please report to reception when you arrive.

I have a surgery date. When should I arrive?

For operations other than joint replacement and spinal surgery, your treating and referring physician will tell you when to arrive. Otherwise, please email us at E-Mail anzeigen.

Is follow-on rehabilitation available at your clinic?

Our rehabilitation advice service will be happy to help you arrange a suitable external outpatient rehabilitation programme. If you need inpatient rehabilitation, our team can also assist you. Patients insured with DAK may be able to complete their rehabilitation programme at our own facility.

Can my partner stay as an accompanying person?

Yes, if occupancy permits. There is a charge for the stay, and it must be arranged in good time.

If I have a long journey, can I arrive the day before surgery?

Unfortunately not, unless there is a medical need. There are, however, several hotels nearby.
