Accessibility statement under the German Accessibility Improvement Act (BFSG)
The German Accessibility Improvement Act (BFSG) requires public bodies and certain service providers to make their digital services, including websites, progressively more accessible. The purpose of the Act is to give people with disabilities equal access to information, products and services.
Klinik Manhagen expressly supports this objective and works continuously to make its digital content user-friendly, understandable and as accessible as possible.
What accessibility means to us
For us, accessibility means designing information and services so that they can be used by everyone, regardless of physical, technical or cognitive impairments. This includes:
clearly perceptible text and structures
clear navigation
compatible presentation on different devices
plain and understandable language
reducing visual and technical barriers
Our commitment
We regularly review and develop our website to meet the requirements of the BFSG as effectively as possible.
This includes:
improving readability
adjusting contrast
improving usability
providing structures for assistive technologies
ongoing technical development in line with current standards

Needs considered and available support
Our website design considers different access needs. The following information distinguishes existing technical foundations from checks that remain outstanding.
Vision
The website uses headings and labels for assistive technologies. Image rendering supports alternative text. We have not yet fully checked whether all images have meaningful descriptions or whether all content is usable with screen readers, magnification and sufficient contrast.
Movement and motor access
Visible focus indicators and keyboard functions for individual interactive elements are provided. Full keyboard access to all menus, forms and embedded services has not yet been verified.
Hearing
Information is available as text on the website. The availability of appropriate captions or complete text alternatives for all video and audio content has not yet been fully checked.
Processing information
Headings and structured content help users navigate. Understandable wording is our aim; this does not establish that all content has been checked for comprehensibility or that an Easy Read version is available. The design respects the system preference for reduced motion for CSS animations and transitions.
Assessment status and limitations
Updated: 17 September 2026. This addition is based on a sample review of the website code and the published statement. A complete technical and manual accessibility assessment, including testing with assistive technologies, remains outstanding. Full compliance with accessibility requirements is therefore not currently confirmed. The outstanding checks are not an exhaustive list of possible barriers. PDF documents and embedded third-party services also require separate assessment.
