• Check the “Procedere” section of your discharge letter.
• Your discharge folder will usually contain all the necessary forms, such as a certificate of incapacity for work.

• For follow-up appointments, wound checks and any questions, please contact your surgeon or the practice that performed your operation.
• You can also contact the surgeon at their outpatient practice.
• If the practice is closed, the Trauma Clinic can assist with urgent emergencies, such as a heavily bleeding wound.
• Important: This does not include prescriptions or medical orders.

• Immediately after an accident: come to the Trauma Clinic without an appointment.
  • Please note: we are not authorised to treat cases covered by German statutory accident insurance (BG), including accidents at work, school, nursery, kindergarten or on the way there or home. Please consult an authorised accident insurance physician (Durchgangsarzt).
• Acute pain without an accident:
  • Urgent consultation at the MVZ, Monday to Friday at 8:00 am. Capacity is limited, so please arrive early and expect a possible wait.
• Long-standing or previously treated symptoms:
  • Arrange a regular appointment. Until then, your GP may be able to help, for example with pain medication.

  • Full-length leg X-rays: please arrange these with the MVZ by telephone, in person or by email.

• You will not receive an automatic confirmation.
• You may receive a message if your appointment changes or as a reminder shortly before the appointment.

• Please enquire by email. We will check whether the document can be issued without a consultation.
• Important: we must have your health insurance card for the current quarter.

• We are bound by statutory quantity limits.
• Prescriptions issued as part of the clinic’s discharge management are often valid for only one week after discharge.

The Anaesthesiology Department is responsible, rather than an MVZ practice or the Trauma Clinic, even if your blood test and ECG are carried out here.

• MVZ: Our outpatient practices, including those outside the hospital premises and in ophthalmology, are MVZ medical care centres.
• Trauma Clinic: Initial treatment by hospital physicians.
• Out-of-hours GP service: A primary care emergency service that is independent of the hospital and uses rooms on the hospital premises.
• Hassler orthopaedic technician: On site on Tuesdays at 5:00 pm; an independent service that is not part of the hospital.

• An MVZ is a physician-led medical care centre in which doctors from different specialties work together within one organisational structure.
  Typical characteristics include:
• Interdisciplinary care, for example general medicine, cardiology and orthopaedics under one roof
• Both employed and self-employed physicians may work there
• Authorised to provide statutory health insurance care
• Often operated by hospitals, groups of physicians or private providers
• The aim is coordinated care from a single provider, closer collaboration between specialties and fewer duplicate examinations.
